Igniting hope, is first and foremost remembering how to love our environment, and understanding that we are part of it. Without belief in ourselves, hope is useless.

Hope ignites through action. This is why the exhibition I proposed with that project is interactive. The Poetic Horizon's Boxes offer imagination quizzes to spectators. The drawings are exposed without a title. Instead, messages are written in small bottles attached to each drawing. Bottles thrown into the sea of their own imagination.

Each little dude kindles hope by recalling the incredible richness and beauty within the simple, forgotten miracles surrounding us.

And as there are as many dudes as miracles, the spectator is invited to indicate if he has seen another worker here or there in empty bottles left for them.

Art is one of the best way to take the time, a little instant, for our mind to deeply wonder what is our unique power for making miracles happen.

We remember that every one is a spot of magic within the womb of humanity.

Little Dudes and the Fairy Jobs

Watercolour, ink - Coquitlam - 2019- 2020

The project of Little Dudes and the Fairy Jobs series originated from a classic activity that I had the habit of proposing during the theatre classes I was teaching. « Invent a job that doesn't exist and explain it to your audience. » Every single time that I propose this activity, I was amazed by the variety of proposals. The richness and diversity of ideas that this little game can bring, for everyone, and not only for those initiated into art or culture. I decided to play the game on my own and proposed it to my newborn baby. One by one, the little dudes came to life, and slowly I realized an infinite source of inspiration that delivered a message of hope at a time that loving our environment is necessary and crucial.

By dint of meeting little Dudes in my work, I had to meet them more closely. As I approached, under the magnifying glass of my heart, I discovered with surprise that the inside of a little guy.. is ultimately a microcosm of the outside.. and if I get even closer, I will discover surely other guys, who live inside the outside.

To meet as many as possible, I decided to meet a big little dude every time nature changes into a new season.

Work in progress.
